The Intergovernmental Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing (ICESDF), together with the Finnish Government hosted a multi-stakeholder consultation on “Co-creating new Partnerships for Financing Sustainable Development”, that took place in Espoo, Finland April 3-4. The event was attended by representatives from governments, private sector, the UN and a number of civil society representatives.

Stakeholder Forum participated in the first meeting of the Open-ended Committee of Permanent Representatives (OECPR) to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), which was held at UNEP headquarters in Nairobi, from 24-28 March. Delegates of the week long meeting considered UNEP's programme of work, budgets and modalities for stakeholder engagement. Final decissions on these issues will not be made until June 2014 at the United Nations Environmental Assembly (UNEA).
We are recruiting for an enthusiastic intern with a keen interest in sustainable development to work with us on a part time basis for three months. The successful candidate will provide administrative and research support for senior staff in the organisation, including on our current work in helping shape the post-2015 development agenda to define the next era of international development and ensure it is based on principles of sustainability.

Stakeholder Forum together with SDplanNet, which is sponsored in its current phase by GIZ on behalf of BMZ, is convening a series of three sustainable development regional workshops in Asia & Pacific, Latin America & the Caribbean and Africa designed to articulate an innovative set of practices for transformative strategy-making, planning and implementation at the national and sub-national levels.
Stakeholder Forum and 11 European partners have launched the Insight_E project, which will serve as the European Commission's energy think tank. It is the aim of the project to establish a multidisciplinary think tank consisting of experts from the energy sector, top researchers, engineers, leading trade, economic, environmental, and legal experts who are experienced in delivering high quality policy advice and impact assessments.

Future Earth is a 10-year international research programme that will provide critical knowledge required for societies to face the challenges posed by global environmental change and to identify opportunities for transformations towards global sustainability. Future Earth brings together thousands of scientists of all disciplines, natural and social, as well as engineering, the humanities and law.
