{"id":1475,"date":"2010-04-12T16:46:06","date_gmt":"2010-04-12T16:46:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/xsf.stakeholderforum.org\/2010\/04\/12\/fromwordstoaction\/"},"modified":"2010-04-12T16:46:06","modified_gmt":"2010-04-12T16:46:06","slug":"fromwordstoaction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sf.stakeholderforum.org\/index.php\/fromwordstoaction\/","title":{"rendered":"From Words to Action: Towards a Strong Follow up to the High Level Panel on System-wide Coherence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/ieg.stakeholderforum.org\/fileadmin\/files\/A_Strengthened_UNEP_Updated.pdf\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-1474\" style=\"margin: 10px; border: 5px solid #110a5c; float: left;\" alt=\"fromwordstoaction1\" src=\"https:\/\/xsf.stakeholderforum.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/fromwordstoaction1.jpg\" width=\"125\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Strengthened UNEP and UN System on Environment: Compilation of Civil Society Responses to the Report of the High Level Panel on System Wide Coherence Updated, 18 April 2007<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>On 9 November 2006, the High Level Panel on UN System-wide Coherence in areas of Development, Humanitarian Assistance, Environment released its report <a href=\"fileadmin\/files\/HLP-SWC-FinalReport.pdf\" class=\"download\"><em>Delivering As One<\/em><\/a>.&nbsp; In July 2006, Stakeholder Forum (SF), the Brazilian Forum of NGOs and Social Movements for Environment and Development (FBOMS) and the UN Non-Governmental Liaison Service (UN NGLS) organized the only civil society discussion with the Panel on sustainable development.&nbsp; Building on this work, the coalition, together with ANPED&#8211; Northern Alliance for Sustainability, initiated a <a href=\"fileadmin\/files\/call_for_panel_input.pdf\" class=\"download\">Call for Input<\/a> on 9 November 2006 to gather submissions from civil society.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">The aim of the Call for Input is to develop a civil society response to the Panel\u2019s recommendations in the area of environment and sustainable development, for consideration by UN Member States and other actors.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Civil Society Views: Compilation Documents<\/h2>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">These papers compile a range of civil society views in relation to the High Level Panel\u2019s recommendations on environment and sustainable development.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"fileadmin\/files\/A_Strengthened_UNEP_Updated.pdf\" class=\"download\">A Strengthened UNEP and UN System on Environment: Compilation of Civil Society Responses to the Report of the High Level Panel on System-wide Coherence. The meeting provided participants with an update on developments in IEG reform, as well as an opportunity to discuss possible models for engaging stakeholders in a UNEO.<br \/><a href=\"fileadmin\/files\/ReformingInternationalEnvironmentalGovernance-mtg_report.d_.pdf\" target=\"page\" class=\"download\" rel=\"noopener\">Full Report&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><strong>New York, 1 May 2007:<\/strong> On Tuesday 1 May 2007 a dialogue was held on the subject of sustainable development in the context of UN reform.
