{"id":2101,"date":"2012-04-17T17:24:23","date_gmt":"2012-04-17T17:24:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/xsf.stakeholderforum.org\/2012\/04\/17\/stakeholder-forum-uncsd-capacity-building\/"},"modified":"2012-04-17T17:24:23","modified_gmt":"2012-04-17T17:24:23","slug":"stakeholder-forum-uncsd-capacity-building","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sf.stakeholderforum.org\/index.php\/stakeholder-forum-uncsd-capacity-building\/","title":{"rendered":"Stakeholder Forum + UNCSD Capacity Building"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In order to implement paragraph 21 of General Assembly resolution A\/RES\/64\/236, which &#8220;encourages the active participation of all major groups&#8221; at all stages of the preparatory process, the Rio+20 Secretariat, in partnership with the Stakeholder Forum, and with the support of the European Commission Directorate General for the Environment, is offering a series of capacity building workshops.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Capacity building workshops were offered on the margins of the five  planned Rio+20 Regional Preparatory Meetings (RPMs) in cooperation with  the UN Regional Commissions. They have subsequently been offered in the  DPI\/NGO Conference in Bonn and now along side each of the Rio+20  Preparatory Meetings. The workshops are designed to enhance awareness of  the themes of sustainable development and build capacity of Major  Groups to engage with the intergovernmental process at Rio+20.
