Stakeholders have two key roles in helping shape the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Post-2015 Development Agenda: 1) offering expert input on the substance of the goals; and 2) holding governments to account for the commitments made at Rio+20 and related negotiations. The tools featured in this newsletter seek to empower stakeholders to carry out these vitally important roles. The SDGs must fulfil the ambitions set out in Rio, and this will require both innovation and vigilance from all actors.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

On 17 June, Stakeholder Forum and partners are hosting a webinar on the role and remit of the recently established United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA). Energy think tank of the European Commission (INSIGHT_E) produces first outputs<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/div>\n
 <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Earlier this year, Stakeholder Forum and 11 European partners launched the Insight_E project, which provides the European Commission and other energy stakeholders with advice on policy options and assesses their potential impact.<\/span> One of the project’s first outputs provides an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the European Union’s security of energy supply. In addition, an informative brochure has been produced to explain the purpose and scope of work for the think tank.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
