Invitation: Opportunities to engage in the United Nations’ process on sustainable development financing
Stakeholder Forum and its partners are organising a focused, invite-only meeting on 15 November with the UN Ambassador of Finland and Co-Chair of the UN’s Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing, Pertti Majanen.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the role of investors in the delivery of the UN’s framework for financing sustainable development. In particular participants will receive updates and engage in meaningful discussions on the following topics:
- The mandate and programme of work for the Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing
- The relationship between the Committee of Experts, the Post-2015 Development Agenda and corporate sustainability reporting initiatives
- Engagement opportunities for investors in the forthcoming work of the Committee of Experts
- Feedback and inputs on the financial instruments being explored by the Committee of Experts to advance sustainable development objectives

Background information:
The Committee of Experts on Sustainable Development Financing was established at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, commonly known as Rio+20 to evaluate and propose options for the effective mobilisation of resources to achieve sustainable development objectives. In particular, these recommendations will help inform UN Member States on the most effective way to finance UN initiatives such as the Sustainable Development Goals.
