Stakeholder Forum’s Response to the High Level Panel’s Report

The High Level Panel of Eminent Persons, which was appointed by the United Nations Secretary General to advise on the Post-2015 Development Agenda, has made public its recommendations in a report entitled ‘A New Global Partnership: Eradicate Poverty and Transform Economies through Sustainable Development’.

The report outlines new priorities for development while also drawing on experience gained from implementing the MDGs, both in terms of results achieved and areas for improvement. The Panel offer an invaluable contribution to the post-2015 debate, and the report constitutes one of several key inputs to the UN Secretary-General’s report on post-2015 which will be delivered member states in September 2013. It is important to note, therefore, that the goals outlined in the HLP Report are for illustrative purposes only and have not been agreed upon by governments at the UN level.
